What is Fascial Stretch Therapy?

 

This modality focuses on increasing mobility, improving posture, relaxing tension, etc. with little to no pain involved. Synchronized breathing is key to this slow paced methodical work. The practitioner really strives to take the time to “listen” to what the fascia (the tissue surrounding muscles / bones) is telling them and respond appropriately to encourage the body to heal.

STRAPS ARE ESSENTIAL

A large majority of the techniques utilize straps with the table to anchor the opposite limb while taking the current limb through your range of motion and stretch work.

Fascia is found around the muscles, joints, arteries, veins, the brain, and the spinal cord. The stretch helps reduce pressure and release stored stress in the fascia, improving circulation and flexibility while boosting energy.

The key to unlocking your fascia is traction – which creates space in your joints to help them move better and PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) to allow for a deeper stretch without causing any pain.
